This book brings together a series of drawings that each represent a brief engagement with the possible psychological strain experienced by individuals in a civilised society. Ontological, political, economic and ecological issues are packaged in darkly comic drawings and interrogated using wordplay, cross-references and commentaries. The final product offers a pessimistic outlook that invites the reader to join in on the joke, and at the same time is based on the synergistic effects of spontaneous drawings and reflective textual commentary. The contents of the pages in the book were mostly drawn using marker pen and fineliner before being scanned and assembled into a digital collage. Selected drawings were enlarged to A4 and A3 format, printed and framed.
