FACES is a photographic collection of examples of pareidolia – a term denoting objects, patterns or structures that are recognised by the viewer as containing elements of faces. The various images were resized to a standard format to make it easier to recognise the faces captured in the photos. The collection now contains over a thousand archived facial configurations found on a huge range of objects and permanent or temporary arrangements of different materials and everyday situations. The first 1.000 pieces in the collection were printed out and presented as a wall-mounted installation for the exhibition in the Kleine Galerie of the Künstlerhaus in Klagenfurt, Austria.
